Those are some GREAT summaries, thank you all for submitting. I have no idea how I will choose. And it seems like my first post about this wouldn't take comments??? Good thing my guilt trip covered for the technology fail. Unless your name is Holli (of any spelling), this contest is now closed. If your name IS Holly (of any spelling), you have until Thursday at midnight to earn back my friendship, awe, and adoration...;-)

Stay tuned this weekend for the announcement of the big winner and details on where you can follow the riveting tale I am yet to write.

Okay, since I was personally called out publicly on your blog . . . here is the beginning:

For your LDS romance novel:
Five years after a tragedy shatters the foundations of Tiffani’s world, she finally feels ready to put the past behind her. But when the ruggedly handsome Marcus crashes into her life, old memories begin to resurface and she questions her belief in true love and second chances.

For the Jane Austen spin-off genre that is so popular right now:
Disgusted with the mindless driveling of Jane Austen’s characters in Pride and Prejudice, Samantha chucks the book across the room. But when Sam wakes up in Austen’s P&P world, she soon realizes that the only way to return home is to truly understand Austen’s characters and make peace with her own insecurities.

For you to tell me what to do with my life:
Ten years after leaving home, Molly finds herself living back in her hometown and working as a librarian for a somewhat dysfunctional school. Torn between living near family and her eagerness to be unique and explore the world, and indecisive about the direction her life should take, Molly sets off on an adventure to imbue her life with meaning and in the process discovers where her true happiness lies.

And because the grandmother in my head has white hair and has an ornately decorated cane:
Although her mother died before Jennica was old enough to remember her, she has always felt a strong connection to her. But when Jennica’s maternal grandmother, Frances St. Clair, with whom she has had little communication with until now, invites Jennica to spend the summer on her southern estate, she faces conflicting feelings when she unearths the legacy her mother left her.

More to come . . .

Okay, this is really all I've got:

At 14, Kristin loves life in her family’s humble cottage and her job tending their sheep, allowing her to roam outside all day until the power hungry Princess Cassiopeia catches Kristin using her [insert magical ability here]. Cassiopeia threatens to throw Kristin’s family in the dungeon unless Kristin becomes her lady-in-waiting and uses her abilities for Cassiopeia’s gain, whereupon Kristin moves under duress to the castle and discovers a scandalous palace intrigue before aiding the rightful heir in overthrowing Cassiopeia.

Separated from her family on the bustling docks of Liverpool, Sarah boards a ship alone to America. Unprotected aboard the ship, her naivete begins to crumble and after landing in America, she slowly works her way across to [insert western jumping off point here] where she reunites with her family a different, stronger Sarah.

Why yes all of my plot summaries do center on females. Because that is the voice inside my head. And if your story involves any werewolves or vampires, I'm pretty sure I might call our friendship into question. And if your plot summary starts with "In this coming of age novel . . ." I also might vomit a little bit. I was going to include a High School Girl Wants to Make an IMPACT plot a la The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks or Catherine Murdock's Dairy Queen series, but I had nothing. And why yes they are all YA ideas, because that's really all the fiction I read now. And I always associate you with Goose Girl. Okay, I think I have sufficiently stuffed your ballot box . . . Have I sufficiently earned back your friendship, awe and adoration?

Okay so I suck at this...
Life had always come easy for Tristan. But lately everything has seemed to turn up-side-down. Literally. Together with his best AI by his side he must fight time, physics and the evil Overload to flip the universe back.

Carly, newly graduated but unable to commit to a "real life", boards the Trans-Atlantic ocean liner ready for adventure. But how could she be ready for her strong attraction to the mysterious William or the sinster murder that takes place half-way through the journey?

Alice has never known life outside her small town until the untimely death of her parents lands her in LA with an aunt who never wanted children and a lifestyle completely different from what she knows. Can Alice navigate her new high school, teach her aunt what it means to be a family and learn to surf?

Stuck on a space station when thermonuclear war destroys 85% of the planet. Lory and the members of the international space team must struggle to return to Earth and rebuild their shattered civilizations.

Okay... hope that works.

Um, I think you should pick Holli's #3 about Alice. Because I actually really want to read that book. Just think about it.
