Apparently, I'm a good cook. At least that's what my ego is telling me tonight. Why is it so outspoken on this particular evening? Because I had TWO really cool ladies in my ward call and ask me cooking questions. One called for clarifications on a recipe I came up with for one of our cooking groups and the other called to ask what kind of olive oil I use. Totally flattered (which, incidentally, equals an awkward and embarrassed Marcee on the phone).
Speaking of really cool ladies, there were so many of them back home in my church that mentored me, that impacted my life, etc. It's weird to think that I'm now in the same position as those really cool ladies (the jury is still out on my relative cool-i-tude, but now I'm the teacher with the impressionable girls at my feet...boggling).

You'd better be using extra extra virgin olive oil, otherwise you are automatically uncool to every Italian woman I've met here. It is sacred stuff! Our landlady was thoroughly appalled that we used regular olive oil. What a shame upon our family name! lol
