Ft Worth in Fotos w/captions by Jane
Saturday IS a special day
Wow.
So I nearly posted Thursday when I had a moment while peeling a mango. My close college friends know all about my "moments" with fruit. These moments are exactly ephiphanies. But definitely moments of clarity or realization or appreciation or something.
Anyway, my moment with the mango was this--I'm practically better. I was peeling a mango. And I had already made a good dinner. And done some dishes. And this was AFTER I had taken care of Jane all day and even tidied up after ourselves. AND I finally unpacked and put away all of Jane's clothes from our trip. Do you sense the momentousness of this? I was peeling a mango for a smoothie. And I hadn't taken any drugs and just had the slightest twinge of pain.
Doing stuff feels so good.
I nearly blogged about my moment Thursday night but then felt silly. And then today. I did even more stuff. I love doing, probably too much. Depends who you ask. Anyway, I'm just so thrilled about actually spending Saturday as a work day. Nothing like prolonged immobilization to make you appreciate work in a whole new light.
YAY!

Eating Food + Blowing Bubbles
=
Sadly, I did NOT get a picture of the full spoon of squash that went on her eye. She totally freaked out at the Squash colored world she was trying to see (if you look closely, you can see how her eye on the right is more orange. It took a few days to get the squash all the way out of her eyelashes) Fortunately, she did it again, blowing bubbles just as I put the spoon in her mouth, to goop her nose.
7 Months...and some change
I took the pictures on the right day, the post is just late. We went to Ft. Worth (more on that latter) to visit Eric's family for Spring Break and got back late last night. So here is last Saturday's post.
At 7 months, Jane is:
21 pounds!!! No kidding, we found that out last week when I took Jane in for her ear infection.
a very sturdy sitter. She's reaching more and farther everyday. Still no real scooting, though. She's content to sit and reach. Although she does utilize her rolling abilities to reach for things and maneuver.
eating 3 solid meals a day (no pun intended) She's slowly liking sturdier textures and has even sucked on some honey dew, an apple slice, some toast, and a frozen mini bagel. Not that she ate much, but you know. Her favorite, no fail, will always eat foods are squash and sweet potatoes. She usually likes bananas, oatmeal, peaches, mangos, and green beans.
has 2 teeth. #2 broke through last week and the top two are starting to swell beneath the gums
is totally weaned from the breast and holds her own bottle.
Now let's review in pictures:
Favorite Toys & Games:
Sorting toys and blocks. She'll spend a whole hour taking those little shapes out of their sorting box and looking in it, banging the shapes together.
Peek A Boo
Singing. She really likes If Your Happy and You Know It and Patty Cake and Wash the Lady's Dishes, in part because she likes anything with repetition and anticipation.
Being thrown about.
Getting tickled.
and incidentally, Jane is scared of bubbles...
My baby is HUGE! She's not even a baby anymore. Not really...*sigh* I'm almost ready for another, my body isn't....

On the Mend?
It looks like the days of pulling Jane around on a blanket and pushing her around in a basket may shortly be over, or at least fewer trips...knock on wood...
Think Jane will miss it?
